general guide on how to counter Orianna
Laning Against
Pay close attention to the location of Orianna’s Ball E throughout the laning phase. Try and adapt your positioning and move to the opposite side of the lane to where her Ball
E is.
Do not roam unless Orianna has recalled. She has very good wave clear thanks to her Q and
W and can quickly push you in and take Tower plates.
Due to her lack of mobility and her inherent ability to push waves, Orianna tends to be weak against ganks. Ask your Jungler for ganks whenever she pushes the lane.
Strategy VS
Avoid fighting around objectives, near Towers and in the jungle as it can allow Orianna to get a multi-person Ultimate R and win the team fight.
Try and split up as much as possible (stand away from each other) so Orianna isn’t allowed to land a good Ultimate R.
If Orianna has a strong frontline, keep an eye on their positioning especially if she has her Ball E on them. If the enemy frontline runs towards you, disengage as quickly as you can so they’re not able to set up her Ultimate
R.
Power Spikes
Orianna isn’t the strongest laner, but she does have a lot of poke early on thanks to her Q and
W.
Once Orianna hits level 6, her kill pressure and survivability increases. At this time, she will be more lane dominant.
Team fights are really where Orianna shines as her Ultimate R is a large AOE ability that can turn the tide of the team fight. Always keep an eye on who her Ball
E is attached too and try and stay as far away from it as possible.
