Gains a shield on not taking damage for a certain duration. This shield makes him immune to crowd control and makes him take 90% reduced damage.
Opens two portals which are perpendicular to thee target's location. After a brief delay, all enemies between the portals take magic damage and are silenced.
Passive: Gains a stack of Zz'Rot Swarm when he casts another ability. This can stack up to 2 times.
Active: Consumes all the Zz'Rot Swarm stacks and summons voidlings at a target location after a brief delay. These voidlings deal magic damage with their attacks.
Afflicts the target with visions, dealing them magic damage every 0.5 seconds over 4 seconds. If the afflicted target is damaged with Malzahar's Q or R, then the duration of this ability will be refreshed. If the afflicted target dies during this time, the visions pass on to the closest enemy, refreshing the duration and restoring some mana.
Tethers to the target enemy champion, supressing and revealing them for 2.5 seconds. The target takes magic damage every 0.25 seconds. A zone is created below thee target which lasts 5 seconds and deals magic damage every 0.5 seconds to all enemies within.
If you cannot get kills with your Ultimate R in lane, push the wave and look to roam and make use of it elsewhere.
In team fights, when the enemy engages, use your Ultimate R on the closest enemy champion. Alternatively, you can Flash R and catch an enemy whose alone and too far forward.
Your Passive shield has a very long cooldown in the early game, so you’ll have to play a little safer while it’s down.
