Rakan Matchups Overview
Rakan General information
Generates a shield that lasts until it is broken. If the shield is damaged, but not destroyed, the shield will regenerate 10% of its maximum value every second on staying out of combat for 5 seconds. Auto-attacks and abilities reduce the Passive cooldown by a second for each enemy champion hit.
Lover's Leap: If either Rakan or Xayah is Recalling, the other may move nearby and channel their own to join them. Both will reach the base at the same time when the initiator's recall ends.
Throws an enchanted feather in the target direction which deals magic damage upon impact. If the target is an enemy champion, a small area starts filling up around Rakan. If an ally champion comes within that area, or if 3 seconds pass with no one coming in the area, Rakan heals himself and the surrounding allies (if any) for an amount.
Dashes to the target location, and upon arrival, leaps into the air after a brief delay. This leap deals magic damage to all surrounding enemies and knocks them up for a second.
Dashes to a friendly target and shields them for 3 seconds. This ability can be cast 2 times within 5 seconds (the second cast won't cost any mana).
If Xayah happens to be the target, the dash range is increased.
Gains bonus Movement Speed for 4 seconds while being ghosted for the same duration. During the 4 seconds, hee deals magic damage to any target he comes in contact with, and charms and slows them by 75%. Each collision will increase the duration of this ability by 0.25 seconds, and he gains bonus movement speed upon coming in contact with an enemy.
Ensure that you do not let the enemy poke you down with basic attacks or abilities. If they’re able to poke you down, you’ll never be able to engage with your W.
You’ll be unable to run directly at the enemy with your Ultimate R to start a team fight. Flanking from the side is the best way to team fight on Rakan. Run in with your Ultimate R active, knock the enemy up with your W and then escape with your E.
Rakan is a solid roaming champion. You could look to roam from base to help your Mid laner get a kill. Roaming from lane to assist your Jungler is also easy on Rakan. Before roaming, always make sure your ADC will be safe and will not die while you’re gone.
