General information

Janna Abilities

Description
Cooldowns

Tailwind

Janna_Tailwind
P

Passively gains 8% bonus movement speed and grants the same to nearby allied champions moving towards her. Her auto-attacks and W deal bonus on-hit magic damage based on her bonus movement speed.

Howling Gale

HowlingGale
Q

Summons a tornado at her current location which charges up over 3 seconds. Its range, speed, damage, and knockup duration increases for every second it is left charging. This ability can be recast after a short delay. The tornado launches itself for 1.5 seconds in the target direction, dealing magic damage to all enemies it passes through and knocking them up for a duration. This ability can be recast to launch the tornado early.

Zephyr

SowTheWind
W

Passive: Janna is ghosted and has bonus Movement Speed when this ability is not on Cooldown. Active: Deals magic damage to a target enemy champion, dealing magic damage to them and slowing them for 2 seconds.

Eye Of The Storm

EyeOfTheStorm
E

Shields a target allied champion or herself for 5 seconds. This shield decays overtime. This shield grants bonus attack damage to the target. This ability's cooldown is reduced by 20% if Janna can slow or knockup an enemy champion. This can happen once per ability cast. The shield can be used on turrets as well.

Monsoon

ReapTheWhirlwind
R

Channels for 3 seconds while knocking back all nearby enemies. Enemies closer to her are knocked further away. Allies withing her channel area will be healed every 0.5 seconds.

Basic combos

Tornado Cheese

HowlingGale
Q
SowTheWind
W
HowlingGale
Q

Channel your Q behind you then walk forward with your W. Then reactive your Q while you're close to the enemy. The best place to do this combo is from fog of war or inside a unwarded bush.

Basic Trading Combo

SowTheWind
W
EyeOfTheStorm
E

Use your W on the enemy target and then use the shield on yourself to protect you while you over extend to poke. If possible, follow up with basic attacks for more damage.

Quick tips to play Janna

Your mindset throughout the game should be to keep your ADC alive at all costs. Stick to them like glue and use everything you can to keep them alive. If needed, cast your Ultimate MonsoonR to knock back would-be engagers to stop them from getting on you or your ADC.
Never leave your team's side and don’t wander too far away from them at any given time. Janna is needed to protect her teammates and not being with them is a big no-no. If this means that you can’t ward an objective or have to delay a ward, then you’ll have to do so as the enemy may ambush you as you go to ward alone.
Use your ZephyrW and basic attacks to harass the enemy as much as possible in lane. A good method of poking is by waiting for the enemy to waste an ability and then walk up to them, auto-attack once and then use your ZephyrW.
