Kayn Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths

He will quickly get his transformation in the early game because he will constantly be skirmishing with the enemy.

Kayn has good roam and map pressure. He could roam pretty quickly with his Shadow StepE and assist his other laners.

His build and kit are very versatile. This makes him a valuable pick as he can adapt to many different scenarios and matchups.

Weaknesses

When he is against ranged champions, or if the enemy freezes near their tower, it will be pretty hard for Kayn to be helpful because they may zone him away from CS and XP.

Kayn is high risk and high reward. If he doesn’t get an early lead, he may struggle to be helpful in the later stages of the game.

In team fights, it might be hard for him to kill anyone if they have CC, long-ranged poke, or disengage tools. He has the same problem as a lot of assassins.

Game plan
Early game
0 - 15 min

Try using the lane brushes and go for short burst trades when the enemy has an ability down. Don't overextend in this lane else, you will end up getting killed due to ganks.

If possible, ask your Jungler to gank you early on a few times. If you manage to accumulate a lead, you should quickly take over the game from there.

Getting your form is going to be massive for you. Depending on which form you get, you should increase your fight frequency accordingly. This will help you snowball the game quickly.

Mid game
15 - 25 min
Kayn is Strong

In the mid-game, you should be working with your teammates to secure picks around the map. This will be highly beneficial if you go for the Darkin form.

Gank other lanes frequently, especially the over-extended ones. This is going to allow you to help your teammates and share your lead with your allies.

If you happen to go for the Blue form, your main goal will be to invade the enemy backline and kill the squishies. You should only be dealing with the frontliners if you go for Red Kayn.

Late game

Depending on your form, you should either be the frontline for your team using the red form, or you should be waltzing in and out the enemy backline and killing them off.

Your Ultimate Umbral TrespassR will be on a very short cooldown now. This means that you can regularly all-in the enemy team and get free kills. Just make sure that you don't target someone who has a dash ability up.

Getting a defensive item should help you immensely, especially if the enemy team is mobile in nature. It will help you a lot during neutral, objective fights when you need to target a specific champion around choke points.

Power Spikes
Early game0 - 15 min

Kayn is not very strong early on as his abilities won't be dealing a lot of damage. He will have to play carefully and wait until he gains access to all his basic abilities before going for all-ins.

Level 6 is a massive power spike that allows Kayn to bolster his all-in potential. The added burst damage will be beneficial when it comes to dealing with squishy or ranged targets.

The first component will give Kayn a massive powerspike as it will bolster both his damage and survivability. It will allow him to duel enemies with ease.

Mid game15 - 25 min

Kayn will spike again when he gets two points in his Ultimate Umbral TrespassR at level 11. It increases the overall damage output and will let Kayn run around the map, picking kills here and there.

His Reaping SlashQ will be maxed out at level 9. This is really helpful for him as it is his primary damage ability. It will allow him to dish out a lot of damage and kill squishies and tanks (depending on his form).

This is the stage of the game where Kayn gets his form. Depending on the team comp, this single choice will be a deciding factor in winning the game.

Late game25+ min

At level 16, Kayn will have his Ultimate Umbral TrespassR maxed out completely. This will directly fortify his ability to all-in enemies and kill them due to his burst damage.

Kayn will have multiple items by now. This is good for him, depending on his form. He can assassinate people if he goes for the Blue Form, while he can act as a frontline if he goes for the Red Form.

Depending on the form and build, Kayn will either be a killing machine due to his burst damage or a tanky, unkillable frontline who will easily peel for his carries.
