This SMG with Demolitionist and Frenzy is arguably the best grenade regen primary weapon in Destiny 2 and is perfect because it gets volatile rounds

This build focuses on making sure you have a scatter grenade at ALMOST all times.
We get a TON of regen for our grenades through Devour Kills, Demolitionist Weapon Kills, Orbs of Power, Grenade Kickstart, Bomber, and Child of the Old Gods Damage.
This combined with double grenades allows us to capitalize on all these regen sources and use our scatter grenades to debuff enemies, kill large groups, focus damage on majors, and keep us alive through devour.
- Use your grenade to generate orbs, void breeches, and proc devour.
- Collect orbs of power to feed into grenade regen, devour timer, and grenade kickstart.
- Use rift for more grenade energy.
- Shoot large groups of enemies and kill them while child of the old gods is applied for ability energy
- After grenade final blows use void weapons with volatile rounds in combination with reaper to generate additional orbs of power
