Energy Overflow Soulfist Build Guide for PvE
The Energy Overflow build relies on the simple rule of using utility skills for buffs first before using high damage DPS skills. It sounds simple but it's actually extremely hard to master in execution.
It is the faster paced class build as it lets you ignore the Hype Energy Meter while also wanting you to keep it constantly under 30%, forcing you to spam your skills to gain increased damage.
That being said, it’s most effective with lots of Cooldown Reduction Tripods and Swiftness. You will quickly cycle through Hype Level 2 and 3 with as little time as possible at Hype Level 1. This takes a lot of practice to do effectively, but is extremely rewarding.
You need about 300 total points to ensure that you have 10 points in all your top skills and make the build really work. Bolting Crash and Flash Step should be lvl 7 for the buffs.
If you don't have enough points for the above you can substitute Crippling Barrier and Energy Blast with and Tempest Blast for an easier rotation.
How to play
This build is fast paced and hard hitting and the low cooldowns make it easy to mess up your ideal rotation. This is because you have a lot to pay attention to with the Hype Meter, but once you get it down it's quite rewarding.
Hype Management can be tricky. If you go to LvL 3 , it can take you a while to recharge and use Hype again. This means you need to be confident that you can capitalize on the window you are in Hype 3. Otherwise, you are better off rotating between Hype 1 and 2 more rapidly. Also, the perfect time to switch to the next Hype level is when your current one is about to expire. As you can see there are a lot of timings to master here in additional to executing you rotation correctly.
In general, you want to hit your buttons in the following order, but the cooldowns are low and things will happen in the fight, so just make sure you get in your hardest hitting attacks after Energy Release.
- Bolting Crash
- Energy Release for self buff
- Merciless Pummel behind the enemy if possible
- Force Orb
- Heavenly Squash
- Energy Blast
- Crippling Barrier
Finally, you can use Flash Step for mobility, building charges of Adrenaline, and for the built in attack buff. Don't be afraid to weave it into the end of your rotation if you don't need the mobility.
- You can get away with Energy Overflow lvl1 , but lvl 3 will increase your damage if you're less than 30% energy.
- Adrenaline is easy to keep up with the fast paced nature of this build.
- Raid Captain and Mass Increase take advantage of the full swiftness required to play this build.
Prioritize Swiftness as you need the cooldown reduction to cycle through your skill rotation fast enough to make use of the increased damage while keeping your energy low.
As a second stat, you want to be focusing on Crit.
Prioritize your main damage skills.
Cooldown on Energy Release better buffs uptime, and of course on your damage skills for a quicker rotation.
Max out Energy Release tripod for the huge 55.6% damage buff! After that focus on leveling your damage skills starting with Merciless Pummel.
You will use Preordained Diligence from Argos until you hit 1445 and can get the Dominion Fang Set. You will permanently have reduced cooldowns and increased damage, and can enjoy using Awakening often!
