Universal Mechanics

Co-op Counter

Instead of blue, the boss will glow purple. Successfully co-op countering the boss requires two players to successfully counter the boss.

Identity Gauge

Thaemine's indentity gauge fills up over time and when players get hit.

When the gauge is at the second bar Thaemine will perform a counterable attack, when gauge is full Thaemine will start a mechanic.

Identity Mechanic

  1. Thaemine raises his sword then disappears, the identity gauge turns into a timer.
    • This timer is a DPS check timer.
  2. Many lightning pools will spawn for the players to dodge.
  3. Ensure you DPS (about x15 bars) before the timer runs out.
  4. Thaemine teleports to the middle and darkens the battlefield, making telegraphs invisible.
  5. He will then perform a counter.
    • He will either hold his axe in the air, or crouch with his word.
    • Remember which counter/pose he performed.
  6. Thaemine splits himself into six clones that can be countered, the three correct clones must be countered.
    • The correct clones are those in the same pose as the counter just before.
  7. Players should then gather in the center to co-op counter the boss.
  8. Thaemine then slashes his sword forward with a huge AoE range, stay behind him.

Counterable Identity Mechanics

Jump Land
  1. Thaemine will jump out of the screen, then land with a circle and cross-shaped red telegraph.
  2. After landing players should gather to co-op counter Thaemine.
  3. Thaemine will follow one of two possible variations/sequences.

Sequence 1

  1. Sword Swing
  2. Stun
    • Use space/dash to not get stunned by the blue telegraph.
  3. Front Axe
  4. Turn to aggro player
  5. Counter
  6. Axe Slam

Sequence 2

  1. Sword Swing
  2. Turn to aggro player
  3. Stab
    • Stab pushes players hit, can cause fall death.
  4. Turn to aggro player
  5. Counter
  6. Axe Slam

Black Axe
  1. Thaemine charges up whilst crouching indicated by the black aura from his axe.
  2. He will slowly smash the ground, stunning everyone. You must space/dash to avoid the stun.
  3. Afterwards, Thaemine swings his axe and glow purple for a co-op counter.
  4. Following a successful counter Thaemine smashes his axe forward, pulsating three times and causing explosions.

Longsword
  1. Thaemine targets a player and holds up his sword, performing up to three counters.
  2. After the first counter the boss can dash and grab
    • Getting grabbed causes a pacman-shaped explosion.
    • Tanky classes can get grabbed to end the mechanic.
  3. Targeted players shouldn't move around too much if the boss is still facing them.

Rupture Debuff

Some attacks will give players a Ruputure Debuff stack:

  • Player takes 5% additional damage.
  • 3 stacks will kill the player.

Major Mechanics

x315 Placement Pizza

What happens
  1. Thaemine will target two players.
  2. After a few seconds the targeted players will place large AoE red telegraphs.
  3. Getting hit by the red telegraph will give the player a Rupture Debuff stack.
  4. Thaemine will jump up and spawn four swords in ordial (X) positions that start a stagger check when they land.
  5. Players will get a sword icon above their heads. This targets the player for a sword wave.
    • If the sword wave passes through a stagger check it will remove around 45% of the stagger.
    • There are two waves, and not everyone receives them.
    • Each sword needs at least two sword waves for the stagger.
  6. Thaemine casts a map-wide explosion that can be dodged by standing behind a sword.
  7. After the explosion he will case a darkness attack and initiate a co-op counter (which requires 3 counters instead of 2).
What to do
  1. The targeted players should stack and move away from the party to place the telegraphs.
  2. Dodge the red telegraphs to avoid getting rupture stacks.
  3. Move to ordinal positions based on party number, two players should be at each spot.
  4. Stagger the swords.
    • Communicate with your party to ensure all swords get the sword waves.
    • Players with the sword should ensure that their sword wave hits a sword.
  5. Stand behind a sword to dodge the map-wide AoE.
  6. After the explosion move to the boss, time your space/dash to dodge the darkness attack.
  7. Complete the co-op counter, 3 are required this time.

x280 Clone Dimension

  1. Thaemine teleports to the center with a blue telegraph on the edge of the battlefield.
    • Stay in the center.
    • Group up behind the boss.
  2. He slams his sword to the ground in front of him.
    • This is inside safe, stay behind the boss.
  3. He performs a large AoE attack targeting players, followed by a co-op counter.
    • Dodge the red telegraph together, move just below the telegraph to the left (next to the sword on the ground).
    • Be ready to co-op counter immediately after the attack, 3 players must counter.
    • Stagger the sword after countering.
  4. After being staggered the sword disappears and drops two black orbs.
    • Taking an orb will teleport you to another dimension to fight a clone.
    • Players outside will continue to fight the boss.

Outside
  1. Wait at the 11 o'clock safe spot to dodge the projectiles.
  2. Use Thirain when the red circle telegraph appears in the center.
  3. Use space/dash over the windwall to avoid being knocked up.
  4. Stagger the boss.
    • Failing the stagger will deal great damage and give a Rupture Debuff stack.

Inside

Players inside must kill the clone and stagger the sword to rejoin the party. Not killing the clone on time causes the battlefield to become smaller and eventually causes a wipe.

The clone is in Sword Stance with additional mechanics. Notably:

Longsword Counter

When Thaemine raises his sword and an almost battlefield-wide red telegraph appears he is counterable.

Teleport Sword

Multiple red telegraphs appear: line, pacman and multiple circles. Thaemine then teleports and swings his sword forward to fire a sword wave. He is counterable immediately after.

280+ Mechanics

Dark Clouds

Thaemine will swing his axe around with a shadow effect, a map-wide animation. He will then spawn dark clouds that get larger over time, then cast a wind attack at a targeted player. Standing inside a cloud gives you darkness stacks.

Run far away from the clouds. Afterwards, stand on the edge of the battlefield in front of Thaemine until the push wind attack is over, then go back to the boss.

If you have your identity meter sufficiently high, then he can counter right after the wind attack.

Counter to Dark Clouds

  1. Thaemine fills the battlefield with darkness and releases dark clouds.
  2. He will swing his sword and be counterable.
  3. Dark clouds will spawn beneath players depending on the sword icon above their heads.
    • If the sword is spinning it will be a donut attack.
    • The direction the sword is pointing at indicates the direction the dark cloud lines will appear
  4. Thaemine starts a stagger check, then slams in front of him.

Make sure to place the clouds away from the center of the battlefield and that they won't hit any party members.

Cone Beam

Similar to Valtan, Thaemine targets a player with a cone shape then attacks the indicator's position.

Make sure to take the attack away from your team and don't move too much so they can comfortably DPS.

Charge Slash with Black Pool

The important part about this mechanic are the orbs that spawn. Taking these orbs gives the player a -40% attack power. However, not taking the orbs causes them to explode and make the debuff partywide.

As such, supports should take the orbs.

x175 Clash

What happens
  1. Thaemine jumps away and lands at 1 o'clock.
  2. Swords will spawn at the bottom of the battlefield and tethers will form between 2 players.
    • These swords must be destroyed.
    • Swords can be destroyed by touching the tether.
  3. The tethers will disappear and have red telegraphs where they were.
  4. For each sword destroyed there will be a golden orb that must be taken by each player.
  5. A map-wide indicator will slowly fill the battlefield. There will be a small safe spot at the very bottom.
  6. The FoV will change and players will need to dodge the projectiles to reach Thaemine on the other side.
    • The last wave of projectiles is always center safe.
  7. Clash can be initiated by a player and a DPS check starts.
    • A pizza attack with dark orbs will be cast if the clash player receives a "good" instead of "perfect".
  8. Thaemine will then disappear and teleport to the center, initiating another clash.
  9. Large AoE telegraph will be cast below the boss.

After this mechanics there will be walls around the battlefield, bouncing off a wall gives the player a cleansable debuff so they take extra damage.

What to do
  1. Avoid the bottom of the battlefield to not get hit by the swords.
  2. Position youself so the tethers are hitting all swords.
    • The positions are show in the clip below
  3. Dodge the red indicators and take a golden orb.
  4. Move to the bottom of the battlefield to aviod the attack.
  5. Dodge the waves of projectiles and reach Thaemine, remember the last wave is center safe.
  6. Initiate the clash with the boss, whilst the rest of the party deals DPS.
    • You can use Shandi Sidereal
  7. Prepare to dodge the pizza and dark orb attack if the clash player gets a "good".
    • Supports must take the orbs.
  8. Stay near the center to initiate the clash, you should be in front of him when he lands.
  9. Either dodge the red telegraph, or preferably have supports use their awakenings.

x87 Sword Tethers

What happens
  1. Thaemine jumps to the middle and powers up.
  2. Players get "curse", after an action it will create a large red telegraph.
    • Using space/dash to create the telegraph will make it smaller.
  3. Stagger check commences.
  4. Swords will spawn around the boss.
    • Six swords will have blue tethers to the boss.
  5. Swords that don't have blue tethers will create orange tethers to players.
    • The sword will start following the tethered player and flash blue (counterable).
    • After countering the sword, it will be placed on that location and can block blue tethers.
  6. Swords that are placed (countered) on top of the blue tethers will stop the connection and allow them to be damaged.
    • After the connections are broken the swords can be damaged.
    • Azena can be used to destroy all the swords.
  7. All swords must be destroyed.
    • Successfully destroying the swords should give you x6 shield stacks on your status bar.
  8. Players will be launched and attacked 6 times, each consuming a shield stack.
    • If you don't have x6 shield stacks you will take damage and receive a rupture stack.
What to do
  1. Immediately group up at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock.
  2. At the same time as your party, use space/dash (required) to create the red telegraphs, then continue running away to dodge them.
    • Be careful, make sure you trigger the curse with space/dash, then move away.
  3. Finish the stagger check, try to save your counter skill.
  4. Move towards the blue tethered sword closest to your orange tethered sword.
  5. Wait until the sword gets closer to the blue tether, then counter the sword.
  6. Destroy the swords.
    • Hard Mode: Use Azena.
    • First Mode: Use Azena and deal some additional damage (~100m). Supports should ask for help.

x62 Explosions

What happens
  1. Thaemine leviatets and starts creating blue explosions.
  2. He then casts a blue telegraph that covers the whole map except the edges.
  3. Explosions are created under each players' feet.
  4. On the fourth explosion, Thaemine casts a map-wide root.
  5. Six more explosions are created under each players feet.
What to do
  1. Group up with your party at the edge of the battlefield to dodge the explosions and blue telegraph.
    • Party 1 at 3 o'clock (right).
    • Party 2 at 9 o'clock (left).
  2. Move up alongside the edge to the top after the blue telegraph.
    • Party 1 at 1 o'clock (top right).
    • Party 2 at 11 o'clock (top left).
  3. When explosions start, move with your party back to the initial position.
    • Party 1 at 3 o'clock (right).
    • Party 2 at 9 o'clock (left).
  4. After the 4th explosion, use space/dash to avoid the root attack.
  5. Continue dodging the remaining 6 explosions.

Last Phase

After x62 you enter the last phase:

  • Hitting the wall will blind you.
  • Thaemine's patterns can crit.
  • Look out for the Medusa mechanic.

Left-Right Medusa Stab

This is a variation of the Left-Right Stab.

After slashing left and right, Thaemine will sometimes cast a Medusa before the last stab.

Make sure to look away!

Sword Stance

Back Grab

  1. Thaemine casts an array of yellow line telegraphs. Players hit will be grabbed.
  2. If someone gets grabbed, Thaemine will dash grab forward and jump slams the grabbed players.

Shoulder Charge

  1. Thaemine will shoulder charge, indicated by wind-like shadow effects.
  2. He will then follow up with a sword slam that knocks players back greatly.

Double Slash

Thaemine charges his sword by holding it straight vertically behind him. This is followed by two slashed either left then right, or right then left. Afterwards dodge the red telegraph on top of him.

Sword Projectiles

  1. Thaemine slashes as he dashes backward, creating multiple red telegraphs.
  2. This can be comboed into another Sword Stance attack such as Double Slash.

Left-Right Stab

Similar to the variations for Jump Land, Thaemine will either:

  1. Slash Left
  2. Slash Right
  3. Change Aggro
  4. Stab
  5. Semi-circle shaped AoE

or

  1. Slash Left
  2. Blue Stun
  3. Slash Right
  4. Change Aggro
  5. Stab
  6. Semi-circle shaped AoE

Lauriel

Thaemine looks behind him, then dashes forward leaving a slash in his path that explodes outwards.

Teleport Sword Waves

  1. Themine points his sword down, holding it vertically then disappearing.
  2. Swords will fall from the sky shown by red telegraphs.
  3. He teleports at a targeted player and fires a sword wave.
  4. He can teleport up to three times before performing a counter or a stab attack.
    • Counter is easily identified by the large shadow effect beforehand.

Sword Handle Safe

  1. Thaemine will spawn levitating blue swords around him.
  2. Inside or outside safe light explosions will appear.
    • The handle-end of the sword is the safe spot.
    • In other words, if the sword is pointing inwards then it's outside safe and vice versa.
  3. Players hit will be launched in the air and comboed, greatly increasing Thaemine's identity gauge.

Dual Wield Slash

  1. Thaemine will dual wield his swords followed by three slashes forwards or backwards.
  2. If Thaemine blinks before attacking, it means the second and thirds slashes are behind him.

Slash Backflip

Thaemine will slash in a straight line in front of him, followed by a backflip slash.

Sword Stance

  1. Thaemine's sword becomes longer and glows to perform a map-wide slash with a safe spot..
  2. The safespot is a pizza-shape behind him.

Occurs often after Lauriel:

Vacuum

  1. Thaemine stands still and starts perforuming a vacuum attack.
  2. Two players will have an icon over their head and be targeted.
  3. Targeted players should group in a different direction to thre rest of the party.

Axe Stance

Orianna

Thaemine raises his axe and creates a shadow cloud beneath him.

  1. Vacuum players inside cloud.
  2. 360 Spin Slash.
    • Inflicts paralysis on players inside the slash (the handle).
    • Pushes players hit by the axe.
  3. Chance to counter then slam in front.
  4. Failing the counter repeats the pattern.

Earthquake

  1. Thaemine crouches and dashes backwards.
  2. He smashes his axe onto the ground in front of him stunning players that are hit.
  3. He follows up with a dash into an uppercut.
    • The uppercut launches the player and comboes them.

Grab

  1. Thaemine spawns many lightning telegraphs that grab players hit.
  2. If a player gets grabbed he will start a stagger check.
  3. He slams his axe again after the stagger check.

One player (Support) can get grabbed for the free DPS window. However note that this also does provide Thaemine with itentity gauge.

Dig

Thaemine stabs the ground with his axe, pulsating three times with explosions.

Left-Right Stab

This is different to the Sword Stance version!

Thaemine slashes left, then right, then stabs in front.

Sword Axe Swing

  1. Thaemine dual wields a sword with his axe and slased to his left.
  2. Either a stagger check or an additional swing followed by a counter.
  3. After being countered he will fire many sword waves.

Slash Stab Combo

If Thaemine slashes then stabs in front of him he can either follow up with Dig or Jump Slam.

If Thaemine Jump Slams, he can follow up with:

  1. Counter
  2. Backstep
    • If his axe glows after backstep then he will do a 360 attack, otherwise it's a counter.

Root Patterns

If Thaemine swings his axe then backsteps he will either:

  • Stand still.
  • Jump into semi-circle shaped attack.
  • Large pizza attack.

If he swings his axe twice in front he will always perform the large pizza attack.
