Universal Mechanics

Additional Enemies

Adds will spawn around the boss, they have low hp and can be killed easily. Upon killing the adds an orb will appear, granting a stack to the player that takes it (up to 10). If the orb isn't taken, they will return to the boss providing it with increased defense.

A buff is applied when the Balthor Sidereal is used and everyone has at least one stack:

  • 10% Atk Power
  • Destruction buff

This means that supports should have 1 stack and DPS should take more. Additionally, the boss will enter a special mode that is explained in the x35 mechanic.

Sidereals

The sidereal gauge fills up very fast, countering or staggering the boss will give grant gauge. This means that if your party succeeds in countering and staggering it allows you to use Wei or Thirain for additional damage/stagger.

Balthor is generally used on x100 and x35 as explained in their respective mechanics.

Weakened Debuff

Every time the boss is countered or staggered, it increases the stun duration after getting coutner/stagger/destruction.

Target Mark

The boss will sometimes mark a player, targeting them for the next attack and facing in their direction.

Players that are marked should go to the opposite side of their party.

Adrenaline

Whenever the boss performs a normal attack, they gain a stack of adrenaline. Any attack beyond three stacks is counterable.

Bleed & Spin

Some of the boss' attacks inflict bleed, upon reaching 10 stacks a player gets stunned. These stacks are not cleansible.

Stunned players trigger the spin attack, the boss will only stop spinning when countered. Note that the boss always rotates 180 degrees at the end, this means you can stay behind the boss and wait for the counter.

Ghosts

At around 25% HP ghosts will spawn for that player only. A red moon icon slowly fills up when you're near these ghosts, causing mind-control when filled.

Either kill them or run away.

Major Mechanics

x144 Tentacles

What happens
  1. Dialogue starts and boss teleports to center.
  2. Multiple blue line indicators will appear, they will spawn tentacles with fragments.
  3. Yellow indicators will appear indicating that the tentacles are coming back.
  4. A stagger check will commence.

Destroying fragments will increase stagger.

What to do
  1. Split up into x3 positions at the edge of the battlefield to dodge the tentacles.
  2. Use destruction bombs on fragments to increase the group's stagger.
  3. After the tentacles return to the boss, stagger the boss.

8min Timed Pattern

This mechanic starts when there is around 8 minutes remaining on the clock.

The boss' head will get bigger, then it will:

  1. Dash to grab a player.
  2. Fire tentacles to grab a player.

If someone is grabbed:

  1. The boss will continue this pattern until it misses.
  2. After the attack it will dash backwards and must be countered.

x100 Cracks

What happens

The x100 mechanic has pre-requisites that start after the x144 mechanic.

Until the x100 mechanic, three cracks will appear on the ground positioned in a triangle pattern:

  1. After counters or staggers, players will have a spike mark below their feet.
  2. The boss fires multiple projectiles around the marked player.
  3. If the marked player was on a crack, the ground around them will turn red.
  4. A crack can be marked twice.

Then for the x100 mechanic:

  1. The cracks that were marked will explode, the crack that was marked twice will have a much larger explosion radius.
  2. Using Balthor will launch the boss up in the air.
  3. Two tentacles with fragments will spawn at a time.
  4. Instantly after, blue projectiles under your feet and pizza indicators will appear.
  5. Destroying the tentacles can up to grab 2 players next to them.
  6. A final attack will be executed, grabbed players will be safe.
What to do
  1. Dodge the explosions from the cracks by going to the edge of the battlefield on the opposite to the crack marked twice. (To dodge the large explosion)
  2. If the team failed to place the marks on the cracks twice, use Balthor right after the Wei dialogue starts.
  3. Dodge the pizza first.
  4. 2 players should move next to the fragments on the tentacles and use destruction.
  5. Repeat step 3 and 4. Two tentacles spawn at a time, each can take two players.

x55 Tentacle Orbs

What happens

The mechanic is identical to x144 but instead of only fragments, some of the tentacles will have an orb. There are two types of orbs:

  1. Red raspberry-shaped orbs (red orbs)
    • Destroying one will temporarily reduce stagger, but destroying two will kill nearby players.
  2. Black orbs with red spikes (black orbs)
    • If not destroyed they will spawn blue indicators that stun players.
What to do
  1. Split up into x3 positions at the edge of the battlefield to dodge the tentacles.
  2. Use destruction bombs on black orbs, don't destroy the red orbs.
  3. After the tentacles return to the boss, stagger the boss. If a red orb was destroyed then wait for the stagger debuff to expire, then stagger.

Phase 2 & x35

What happens
  1. The stage changes and eyeballs will appear on the ground.
  2. The eyeballs will slowly chase you, stepping on them will activate their attack.
  3. If their bit attack lands, it will reduce your HP to 1.

At around x35:

  1. The boss' hands turns to claws and the eyeballs will suddently be looking in the center of the eye with a brief red icon appearing above then.
  2. The eyeballs will then all look towards a certain direction indicating the safe spot location.
  3. The boss will perform 3 dash attacks in the meantime.
  4. After the 3rd dash attack there will be a very fast map-wide aoe with a safe spot at the location where the eyes were looking.
  5. The explosion has 5 ticks/stacks, each providing a debuff that causes you to take more damage.

Using Balthor at the start of this mechanic will activate its special mode:

  • The boss loses x15 HP bars and gets a shield.
  • Players gain a massive shield, immunity and a damage buff based on the orbs gathered.
  • This buff lasts 25 seconds, failing to remove her shield will cause a wipe.
  • Ignoring the explosion during Balthor will still apply the debuff stacks.
What to do
  1. Step on the eyeballs to clear the battlefield so you can safely dps.
  2. Make sure to dodge the eyeball bite attack.

On the x35 mechanic:

  1. Move towards the direction the eyes are looking at.
  2. Be ready to space/dash into the safe space.

On the x35 mechanic w/ Balthor (recommended):

  1. Use Balthor immediately when the mechanic starts, when the boss gets claws (from around x38 to x35).
  2. DPS the boss as much as possible to destroy the shield. Use and .
  3. Try to dodge the explosions if you can.

Black Hole

This is a hard mode only mechanic.

What happens
  1. The map zooms out, a black hole spawns and arms will spawn on the edges of the battlefield.
  2. The black hole will slow you down by trying to pull you in.
  3. The boss will perform the 8m grab mechanic again, but:
    • There will be two dashes instead of one.
    • The boss will be much faster
  4. The arms on the edges will try to attack you, dealing huge damage.
What to do

Just like the 8min timed mechanic, but be mindful to dodge the attacks from the arms on the edges of the battlefield.

Counterable Mechanics

Blue Venn Diagram

Blue indicators that look like a Venn Diagram appears below the boss. Players hit by the attack will get grabbed, this is allways followed by a counter.

Darkness

The Boss casts a blue circle indicator, the covering the battlefield with darkness. Stand behind the player that was nearest to the intial blue circle.

The boss will the flash forward and turn around, becoming counterable.

Notable Mechanics

Transformation

Sometimes the boss changes its hands to either hammer, spears or swords:

  • Spears - Boss disappears. - Dodge AoE swirls that appear.
  • Swords - Boss goes to the edge. - Stay far away from the boss to dodge the projectiles.
  • Hammer - Boss goes to the center. - Dodge large AoE attacks.

Spear Grab

The boss' hands will change to spears and will only attack forward. If hit by one of these attacks the player will be grabbed and likely die.

Pool

In Hard Mode, the boss will cast an inside-safe ring and mark a player with a pool. The player with the pool should stand as far away from the party as possible.

Red Venn Diagram

Red indicators that look like a Venn Diagram appears below the boss. The boss will then dash backwards, leaving a thorn trail.

Back Grab

The boss will crouch and multiple yellow line indicators will appear on one side, if a player is grabbed then the boss will follow up with multiple projectile explosions.

Reflect

The boss wraps its tail, if the reflect is not activated it will perform spinning attacks. If it's activated then it will perform a 360 degree slash.
