Universal Mechanics

Battlefield Break

Certain mechanics will cause the battlefield to break.

Getting hit by mechanics into the broken parts of the battlefield will cause the player to fall.

If all the pieces of the battlefield are broken the boss will be in an enhanced state.

Destruction

After staggering the boss you can use destruction.

Successfully passing the destruction check will spawn an orb to follow the nearest player. After the orb hits the player it will produce a cone behind the player.

The player should guide the orb to a broken section of the battlefield to regenerate it with the cone. Regenerated tiles are safe and will appear purple.

Major Mechanics

x160 Pizza

What happens
  • Boss teleports to center and mirrors appear at x3 positions.
  • The boss does 3 pizza attacks. Getting hit by a pizza attack will give you a reduced damage debuff.
    • The first two should be dodged.
    • Before the third pizza is executed, yellow telegraphs will appear.
    • The third must be aimed and hit the respective mirror.
  • Hitting the 3rd pizza on the mirror will grant it 1 stack, up to 3. - If a mirror doesn't reach 3 stacks, it won't be staggered and will destroy a part of the battlefield.
  • The player should repeat the above twice on different mirrors.
  • A stagger check on the boss and mirrors commences.
  • Failing to stagger the boss will wipe the party.
  • Failing to stagger a mirror will destroy that part of the battlefield.

The stagger check is too tight to get all 4 mirrors, the party should split and destroy both bottom mirrors. This means that the 2 top mirrors won't be staggered and will destroy the top part of the battlefield.

What to do
  1. Move to your x3 position.
  2. Dodge 2 pizza attacks.
  3. Dodge the yellow telegraph whilst saying near the mirror.
  4. Aim the last pizza at the mirror and dodge it.
  5. Move clockwise to the next mirror and repeat the above.
  6. Stagger the boss at the center.
  7. Go with your assigned partner to stagger one of the bottom mirrors.

x110 Deceitful Counter

What Happens
  • The boss teleports to the center, spawning multiple mirrors.
  • A stagger check will appear.
  • The boss will either attack or pretend to attack mirrors 1-by-1.
    • A real attack will show the sword piecing through the mirror, the counter sword will be red and will make a sound. The animation of the attack is fast.
    • A fake attack will not pierce the mirror and the counter sword will be black. The animation of the attack is slower.
  • After the boss interacts with the mirror, it will initiate a counter.
    • Mirrors that received a real attack should be countered.
    • The counter should be performed from outside, not inside.
  • Successful counters provide stagger buff stacks and instantly provide a cooldown reduction.
  • Failing to counter the correct mirror, or countering the wrong mirrors will cause party-wide damage and reset the stagger buff.
  • Failing to stagger the boss will cause a wipe
What to do

The order of taking the mirrors is based on party number; 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4. This means that player 1 will take the first two mirrors, player 2 will take the next 2 mirrors, etc.

  1. Pay attention to your mirrors and counter the correct ones.
  2. Stagger between counters.

x60 Mirror Destruction

What Happens

Destructible mirrors Phase

  • Boss teleports to the center.
  • Destructible mirrors spawn at x3 positions.
    • Destructing them will provide a stagger buff stack, up to 4.
    • If each player destroys the mirrors, everyone will get 4 stacks.
  • A stagger check commences.
  • Failing the stagger will cause a wipe.

Portals Phase

  • The boss drops a destructible sword.
  • A player will be connected to the boss.
    • This can be transferred by another player getting close.
    • The lowest DPS player should take the connection.
  • The boss will throw projectiles at the players then initiate a grab
  • A player that was not connected to the boss should get grabbed.
  • 4 portals will appear.
  • The boss will target the connected player and throw the grabbed player towards that direction.
    • The direction is indicated by a small pizza near the boss, you can get away as soon as it disappears.
    • Otherwise, the boss inflicts battlefield-wide damage.
    • If this is failed and there were players fighting the guardian raid boss, a player can't join them.
  • The player should be thrown into a portal.
    • The highest DPS player should go.
  • The boss will repeat the grab to throw players into other portals. Players thrown will join the first player.
    • The second player should always be the support.

Inside Portal

The player thrown to the portal will be teleported to another battlefield with a guardian raid boss, either:

  • Vertus
  • Legoros
  • Calventus

Surrounding the field there is a timer, the guardian raid boss must be defeated before the time expires.

After Guardian

  • Players receive a stagger buff.
  • The boss will rotate then initiate a grab always between 6 and 9 o'clock.
    • The player with the lowest stagger should get grabbed.
  • Stagger check commences.
What to do
  1. Use a on your assigned mirror (x3 position).
  2. Complete the stagger check.
  3. Use destruction skills on the sword.
  4. Lowest DPS player should take the connection with the boss.
  5. Dodge the projectiles.
    • Highest DPS player should move to the grab zone on the 3rd projectile to get grabbed.
  6. Connected person should stand between the boss and the portal to aim the boss' throw.
  7. Players outside the portal need to continue the above to get more players inside, the support should go inside next. The player inside the portal should damage the guardian raid boss.
  8. After all players are inside the outside player should just dodge whilst the inside players kill the guardian raid boss in time.
  9. Lowest stagger player should get grabbed by the boss.
  10. The boss should be staggered by the other players.

x35 Stagger Check

What Happens
  • Boss teleports to the center and 4 mirrors appear.
  • Each mirror has a stagger check.
  • Not staggering a mirror will result in that section of the battlefield breaking.
  • Boss' attacks become enhanced from this mechanic onwards.
What To Do

Either continue dealing damage to the boss and use it as a free DPS window, or stagger 1 mirror to be safer.

x30 to x0 Map-Wide AoE

After x30 the boss will cast a periodic map-wide AoE, supports should focus on using damage reductions and shields to survive these bursts.

Counterable Mechanics

Cone Counter

The boss will initiate a counterable cone telegraphed attack.

Getting hit by the cone will cause the boss to grab and throw the player.

Double Cone Counter

The boss will telegraph 2 cone attacks and will be counterable.

Failing this counter will destroy the battlefield pieces in the cone's range.

Grab

The boss holds its blade in preparation then dashes, grabbing and throwing all the players in its range. This can also be a counter.

If no one is grabbed, an inside safe sword will be thrown.

Notable Mechanics

Backwards Cone

Projectiles and spikes will appear, they should be dodged.

There will be a cone indicator behind each character, inside this cone will become a safe space.

Always face away from the middle, to ensure this auto attack towards the outside of the arena, pointing the cone to the edge of the battlefield will cause the whole battlefield to be affected by the attack.

2nd Player Safe Spot

2 players will be given large section AoEs one at a time, the boss will then drop on a random player and the 2nd player's position will be the safe spot.

The second player should ping where they are so the party can group.

Giant Purple Orb

A purple orb will appear on the battlefield:

  • The player that takes the orb will get rooted so they should use space to get the orb.
  • If the orb is not taken then it will break all surrounding battlefield parts.

Giant Red Orb

A giant red orb will spawn moving towards a portal that will stagger the boss when killed.

You must stand within the line between the boss and the portal, otherwise your damage will be reflected.

Frenzy

The boss teleports to the center, then repeats the following 3 times: 1. Throws projectiles that need to be dodged. 2. Charges indicated by a red telegraph.

Don't stay in the middle, this will make it harder to dodge the charges.

Getting hit by the red telegraph will grab the player. The grabbed player will be able to see the real boss for the counter, however they will receive damage.

Clones will then spawn, the real boss must be countered which is indicated by not having a full HP bar.

Stab & Grab

The boss will cast an inside safe attack. The boss rotates and then stabs the direction its facing, grabbing any player hit.

Stay behind the boss whilst its rotating.

Golden Area

The boss will have a golden area below it, then will cast a ring attack. In other words, outside then inside safe.

Sword Spin

The boss spins around the sword, a safe space will appear surrounded by a yellow map-wide telegraph and the boss will perform a grab. A grabbed player will need to do a typing minigame or be dealt additional damage.

If no player is grabbed, the boss will perform a knock out attack on a player.

Card Beam

Cards move to one side together an prepare a blue beam that covers most of the battlefield.

Orb Projectiles

The boss will spawn a large number of targeted orb projectiles and throw them.

Targeted Pizza

The boss will target each player with a pizza.

Fly Projectiles

The boss flies in the air and does a stripe attack, and throws a projectile to each of the players. The boss does this twice in total before jumping down with AoE ring attacks.

This mechanic is similar to Vykas Gate 3's mechanic.
