Tier list methodology

Every patch, our experts curate a predictive tier list for climbing solo queue based recent buffs, nerfs, and trends.

We rate champions as Optimal (S-tier), Great (A-tier), or Good (B-tier) based on their ability to perform in the current meta. Champions are also given a skill floor difficulty rating to indicate how much of a time investment is needed to see positive results.

If a champion isn’t on our tier list, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t climb with them. You’ll just have to put in more effort to get similar results as our Optimal, Great, and Good choices for climbing.

Lulu is back in the toplane with the Moonstone/Staff of Flowing Water combo. Her annoying laning is still solid but it doesn’t matter, down 50 CS? A tower? Just group with your team and you outvalue almost any champion in the game. The healing and utility is oppressive and as long as you have a good target to buff you’ll be golden. Best played when duoing. - Shikari unranked

2800g for Chemtank is a bargain for Skarner, he already had a solid winrate but now that he’s got cheaper access to his Mythic he can run down enemy carries even easier. Galeforce won’t be enough to keep them safe and once they’re locked down their mobility is irrelevant. With how strong ADCs are at the moment this is a great time for Skarner.

Mazlahar is another midlaner great at dealing with pesky mobile ADCs.Very little counterplay until a QSS is picked up but that simply means picking another target or waiting till it’s been used. Clearing waves is easy and it’s incredibly hard to punish him with his shield and defensive peel. Malzahar is a consistent pick and only really struggles against long range mages who aren’t being seen too often at the moment.

Seraphine bot is super strong at the moment, capable of going an AP heavy or Supportive build she can flex to suit her team. Her wave clear is solid, her pick potential is good and her teamfighting and scaling are overpowered. Your ult is capable of single handedly winning games and it’s hard to miss when fighting in a choke. Works best when you have sources of AD on your team

Rell took some time to start to shine but she’s finally starting to make some headway. Her strengths lie in her aggressive CC setup allowing her to challenge lanes from level 1. Follow that up with some roaming augmented by her bonus movement speed when mounted and it’s easy to dictate a game early by showing up and making an impact. Come teamfights and your ult can combo with your E to make devastating setups for your team.
