Tahm Kench Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths

Tahm Kench can absorb a lot of incoming damage in lane and in team fights with his Thick SkinE. If he activates it at the right time, he can have basically two health bars and be near impossible to kill.

His Ultimate DevourR is very versatile. It can be used to save an ally, or catch somebody out of position. It is a great tool especially in mid and late game team fights

His Abyssal DiveW is very versatile. It can be used to escape skirmishes, get over walls, look for plays and many other things.

Weaknesses

Tahm needs to ensure that he activates his Thick SkinE mid-fight. Activating it too late is pointless because the enemy will disengage, and you will waste the shield.

He is very immobile which means he is really easy to chase down even with his Abyssal DiveW up. If the enemy freezes the lane, he cannot do anything to escape an all-in/gank.

As Tahm Kench is a melee champion, laning against ranged champions is very hard for him as they can poke him down whenever he walks forward or positions somewhat aggressively. Ranged champions can also zone him incredibly well.

Game plan
Early game
0 - 15 min
Tahm Kench is Weak

Focus on playing safe and keeping your ADC alive for as long as possible in lane. Your early game is weak and you need time to come online.

As you’re a melee Support, watch your positioning at all times so you do not get harassed by the enemy Support if they’re ranged.

Look for counter-engage plays as your champion is way stronger at doing so compared to looking for aggressive picks.

Mid game
15 - 25 min
Tahm Kench is Average

As a Support, you’re quite vulnerable and can easily be killed when going to ward, when you’re moving around the map, and when you’re alone. To reduce the chances of dying and getting caught out of position, try and stick with your team at all times.

Keep a constant eye on what major objective is spawning next. If it’s spawning soon, make sure you place vision around the objective as quickly and as safely as possible before retreating to safety. Having vision around major objectives is key.

Look for picks during the mid-game. If you can pick someone off with the help from your allies, you can abuse their death timer to earn more gold and possibly take a tower, an objective or get more kills.

Late game
25+ min
Tahm Kench is Average

Ward major objectives and place vision in high traffic areas in the late stages of the game. Keep them warded so you can see the enemy move around the map and see them starting the objective.

Stay with your team at all times. Avoid moving around the map alone so you do not get caught out. Getting caught out will result in your team having to play 4v5. Do not ward alone unless you know where the enemy is.

Peel for your allies as much as possible. Keeping them alive for as long as possible in team fights is a must in order to win the game.

Power Spikes
Early game0 - 15 min

Tahm Kench's early game isn't solid as he won't be able to protect his ADC during this point. He will deal a lot of damage to the enemy, provided he doesn't get poked out early.

Level six is a massive power spike as it offers both kills pressure and defensive measures for his lane partner. This means that he can try to all-in the enemy on his own now.

Level three is another significant power spike as it grants him access to all of his basic abilities. This means that he can do a lot more in the lane while using the lane brushes. He, unfortunately, won't be able to utilize his Passive well enough, though.

Mid game15 - 25 min

Tahm Kench will have multiple items completed during this phase of the game. It will increase his survivability and will let him dish out a lot of damage as well.

Once Tahm Kench hits level eleven, he will have added two points to his Ultimate DevourR. It will increase the damage dealt by the ability while also increasing the shield if that ability is used defensively.

His first ability will be maxed out at level nine. This will let him all-in the enemies with increased efficiency while using the lane brushes constantly.

Late game25+ min

Level sixteen is a massive power spike as it increases the defensive capabilities of his Ultimate DevourR. His ADC will be really safe due to the enormous shield they will get.

Tahm Kench's tankiness will be out of the world during this phase of the game. He can peel for days for his team and get picks on the enemy with his Tongue LashQ.

His Tongue LashQ will be on a really short cooldown. This means that his pick potential and poke will increase a lot. He should try to use the fog of war combined with his Abyssal DiveW to secure picks on the enemy.
