general guide on how to counter Shyvana
Laning Against
Shyvana wants to power farm in the early game to get level 6 and unlock her Ultimate R and get her transformation. You can delay this by invading or trying to fight her early.
Thanks to her Passive, Shyvana will be trying to secure every Dragon. Make sure you keep them warded so you can spot her before she takes them for free.
Because Shyvana will not be ganking much, look to gank as much as you can in the early game to get your allies ahead.
Strategy VS
Force team fights when Shyvana doesn’t have her Dragon R form so she is unable to effectively trade or fight back with your team.
Shyvana will try to delay a team fight so she can harass and poke you down with her E in Dragon
R form. Fight as soon as you can so she is unable to burst you down and from afar.
Shyvana can flank from the side with her Ultimate R and her
E. Make sure you have your flanks warded so you can see her before she gets the chance to poke and burst you down.
Power Spikes
Shyvana’s first power spike is at level 6 when she unlocks her Ultimate R as it allows her to change forms.
The longer the game goes, the stronger Shyvana becomes. In the mid-game, her poke and damage output will be very high. Don’t let her poke you down.
Each Dragon provides Shyvana with a buff that not only helps her whole team but it also directly buffs her thanks to her Passive. Don’t let her take every Dragon if possible.
