Passive: Kayn gathers orbs from his targets. These orbs are of two different kinds and will appear upon damaging an enemy champion. If he attacks ranged champions, he will get blue orbs, while if he attacks melee champions, he will gain red orbs. These orbs will fill up a bar which will allow him to choose between two forms, one of which, when chose, will be his permanent form the entire game. The forms and their bonuses are as follows:
Shadow Assassin: On being out of champion combat for over 8 seconds, he will deal bonus magic damage to the enemy champion on the first instance of his damage dealt. This is also applicable to his Ultimate.
Darkin: Heals for the post-mitigation damage he deals with abilities against enemy champions.
Dashes forward and deals physical damage to enemies he passes through. He then swings his scythe, dealing the same damage to surrounding enemies.
Darkin: The damage of this ability is modified for both instances.
The dash speed will scale with Kayn's total movement speed.
Performs an upwards sweep with his scythe, dealing physical damage to all enemies hit in a line in the target direction and slowing them by 90% over 1.5 seconds.
Shadow Assassin: Increases the range of this ability. Also summons a living shadow at the casting position to perform this ability in Kayn's stead and reduces the ability's cast time to 0.
Darkin: Knocks up enemies hit for a second.
Gains bonus movement speed, is ghosted and can walk through terrain for 1.5 seconds. He also heals himself on moving through terrain for the first time and, if he is not in combat with enemy champions, this ability's duration is increased. Taking damage from enemies will reduce the remaining duration of the effect to 1.5 seconds.
Shadow Assassin: Cooldown is permanently reduced to 8 seconds at all ranks. He also gains 100% slow resistance and gains bonus movement speed for the remaining duration on entering terrain.
Passive: Marks a champion that he damaged in the last 3.15 seconds.
Active: Goes into the body of the enemy champion for up to 2.5 seconds and can re-cast the ability after 0.5 seconds. On exiting the target, he deals physical damage to the target.
Shadow Assassin: Gains bonus cast range and emerge range while also resetting his Passive's cooldown.
Darkin: Deals modified damage and heals him based on pre-mitigation damage.
Don’t be afraid to use alternative ganking routes with your E to dodge commonly warded bushes.
Try and get your transformation as quickly as possible by ganking and skirmishing with the enemy as often as you can.
You’ll want to transform into Blue Kayn if the enemy has lots of squishy champions. If they have lots of tanky champs, opt for Red Kayn.
