Our Patch 11.5 Tier List video is coming soon. Stay tuned!
Every patch, our experts curate a predictive tier list for climbing solo queue based recent buffs, nerfs, and trends.
We rate champions as Optimal (S-tier), Great (A-tier), or Good (B-tier) based on their ability to perform in the current meta. Champions are also given a skill floor difficulty rating to indicate how much of a time investment is needed to see positive results.
If a champion isn’t on our tier list, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t climb with them. You’ll just have to put in more effort to get similar results as our Optimal, Great, and Good choices for climbing.

List for Climbing Solo Queue →Volibear is looking really solid in the top lane, capable of going toe to toe with a lot of the stronger bruisers. His ability to shove waves and outtrade with his stun and shield means he’s a reliable laner. When he’s fed he can decimate the enemy backline and with his ult deactivating towers there aren't many places to hide from him.
- Shikari unranked
Shaco has typically been a champion only played by players who main him but in the recent patches he’s looked better and better. With his AoE camp clear being buffed he’s now in a really strong spot. Shaco’s ganks are incredibly powerful and he’s easily capable of taking over a game if he gets off to a strong start.
- Noltey unranked
Capable of destroying squishy backliners and hard winning skirmishes, Diana is doing really well at lower ranks. With Seeker’s Armguard and Verdant Barrier being strong options to help survive harass, she has an easier time getting to the midgame where she can start taking over teamfights. If you’re playing against Diana then you have to be super cautious after 6, getting caught in her ult leaves you little chance of survival.
- Wave Control unranked
Sivir received some solid buffs and is starting to really deliver. Strong wave clear, tons of movement speed and the safety of her spell shield means she’s a really reliable carry who can offer consistent damage and a decent helping of burst in teamfights. Her short range can cause issues but her boomerang blade and ricochet allows her to operate beyond that.
- nuciear unranked
With picks like Rell, Leona and Alistar running rampant, Morgana is a solid counter. There’s a lot of ADC picks that flourish in the later stages but struggle to get through more aggressive lanes. Morgana can essentially block the aggression of these champs with her black shield and binding and this continues into the later stages of the game where you can help prevent divers from locking down your carries.
