Staffs are good right now because you can roll

• 300+ Intelligence • 50%+ attack speed • 40%+ resource cost reduction • 2 double value tempers • A double offensive aspect

Unique staffs cannot do any of these things, and their effects have been power-crept into oblivion, especially on Sorc that only get a 2H or wand/focus. The opportunity cost is too real. They would have to combine Staff of Endless Rage with illuminators to make it be worth it.
