Enchantments
- Fire Bolt
The Fire Bolt enchantment is here to take advantage of certain Glyphs and Passives, as well as item modifiers, Fireball doesn't naturally apply burn, so we need something here that procs burn to absorb the benefits we gain from foes that are burning.
- Teleport
Teleport is here to improve mobility and increase stun capability when we have Raiment of the Infinite. There are a few other Enchantments we can use here as it's a relatively flexible slot.
Fireball is a reasonable choice, as we're already levelled the skill, so it brings a lot of damage naturally when we pop a pack, it also runs quite well with the Heart, Barber.
An alternative Enchantment for fixing mana issues if you have a well-rolled Aspect of the Umbral is Frost Bolt, which is why I kept it levelled, the Chill application from Frost Bolt will constantly proc Aspect of the Umbral for insane resource generation.
Aspects

Malignant Hearts
The Malignant choices we can choose for Blizzard are ones which focus on increasing our damage while also increasing our durability, Blizzard can take advantage of quite a few things early like "Creeping Death", until we reach Barber later. Tal'Rasha and Tempting Fate also work well with Blizzard.
- The Barber (Wrathful, Super - World Tier III): Barber is just great here, increasing our damage output due to the accumulation of damage and then bursting it in an AoE. When we combine this with Ice Shards and Blizzards, we get impressive clear speeds. Other Sorcerer builds suffer from Boss problems, fortunately, Blizzard Sorcerer does not.
- Revenge (Brutal, Defensive - World Tier III): Revenge here is great just to solve some of the durability issues we have on Sorcerer, giving us a hefty 20% Damage Reduction, we already do pretty impressive damage with Blizzard and The Barber Heart. We can slot Tempting Fate here as well if we don't want the DR.
- Tal’Rasha (Vicious, Offensive): A good 36% damage increase, we gain 12% from fire, another 12% from Teleport and Barber gives us the last 12% from Shadow Damage, netting us a reasonable 36%.
- Tempting Fate could also be used here, replacing Revenge if you think we don't need the DR, or replacing Tal'Rash if you didn't get one but be careful early I don't believe we have the mana to keep up a constant 100% Crit Chance with the Elementalist Aspect, thus we'd lose some damage from the debuff.
Unique Items
After the buff these are great, in fact, I'd consider them almost mandatory for the build and they work amazingly well with Aspect of the Umbral for mana generation late game if you have a well-rolled Aspect.

Fireball - The Illuminator Sorcerer Build Details
This build focuses on using Fireball with its passive Destructive Fireball to increase our critical strike damage, we max our critical strike chance with Aspects like Elementalist further improving the destructive power of our Fireballs. To make the Fireballs bounce as they were intended we utilise the Unique, Gloves of the Illuminator, which turns our Fireballs into little balls of destruction.
Fireball was originally an odd skill, due to all the Uniques for it decreasing damage heavily and the skill mechanically not functioning as well as it could but with the recent updates to the skill and to its unique, Gloves of the Illuminator this build has popped into a good spot.
I’ve built Fireball toward Destructive Fireball to really hone in on our critical strike damage, as we can get reasonable crit chance with the Elementalist Aspect, allowing us to skip Fireballs natural Paragon Legendary, Searing Heat saving points for other areas.
We’ll be using the Enchant Firebolt to really take advantage of some of the passives in the skill tree and the Paragon board, while using Fireball to give us some of that extra pack damage, working really in conjunction with the Heart, Barber.
Fireball has a few mana issues, and we attempt to solve this in a number of ways, firstly we're using Prodigy, having a good roll really helps here, but other areas to improve on are Resource Generation and Mana Reduction on gear huge. Later on, we also grab the Legendary Node, Static Surge which should also help improve our mana issues.
A well-rolled Aspect of the Umbral works tremendously well here as well, I can't state this hard enough that if we have the Aspect and we use the Enchantment "Frost Bolt", we immediately will have 0 mana issues.
In-Depth Explanation
As I mentioned before, we gain increased Critical Strike Damage from Destructive Fireball, an increase of 20% that is further increased to 30% if we hit 3 or more foes, which isn’t a hard task to accomplish, combined with our Aspect of Three Curses that further increases our Fireballs Critical Strike Damage by 20-40%, that is also doubled if the enemy is healthy gives us a naturally high Critical Strike Damage bonus.
- We'll always want to Teleport in and Frost Nova, this starts off our combo and gets out our application of vulnerability.
- We'll use Inferno on packs with Elites, otherwise, we'll be spamming Fireball on everything where possible.
- Rotate defensives, Teleport initiates, using Ice Armor as we take damage, Flame Shield to break out of CC.
- Remember that Inferno gives us infinite mana for its duration, use that to your advantage to spam against Elites without resource issues.
