Build Summary

Blizzard is a pretty fun build with good area of effect. The whole build hinges on the Glacial Aspect which allows your blizzard casts to create Ice Spikes.

Enchantments

In order to get the full 150% resource generation bonus of Elemental Acuity we need to cast a frost, fire, and a lightning skill. If you find you don't need it you can run the Ancestral Skill Tree setup and the Conceited or Shivering aspect

• Teleport Enchant - is for movement and making crackling energy for a damage boost from the Convulsions passive

• Ice Blade Enchantment - is to apply vulnerable to single target reliably, and to lower all of our cooldowns. Primarily for better uptime on Ice Armor, Deep Freeze, and Frost Nova (which is our main way of applying vulnerable)

Aspect of the Frozen WakeGloves
Aspect of the Orange HeraldPants
Aspect of SlaughterBoots
Glacial AspectAmulet
Aspect Of Elemental AcuityRing 1
Aspect of Frozen MemoriesRing 2
Aspect of Shredding BladesWeapon
Aspect of the Frozen TundraOffhand

Glacial, Frozen Tundra, and Frozen wake all scale off ranks to the skill the procs their ice spikes.

The ONLY one we care about, is Glacial which scales off of Blizzard and/or ranks to Core, and that is why it is on the Amulet.

The reason we do not have Glacial on a staff is that the mythic version would end up with either frozen wake or tundra on the amulet which would not add any extra damage by scaling the aspect by 1.5x. Wake does not get its x3% damage scaled, just the spike value. So Glacial Amulet it is

Other Good resource Aspects • Umbral - Codex • Prodigy - Codex

Build Notes

Gameplay Loop

Basically you spam cast Blizzard onto packs of enemies, and eventually they die. It takes 12 seconds of casting on a boss to ramp up to full DPS. You will learn eventually how many blizzards casts you need to kill a pack in different content difficulty, as once you stop casting, blizzard will continue to deal damage for 12 seconds

Blizzard - Main Damage Caster Deep Freeze - Is taken to become immune to damage. But most often you will be popping this and cancelling it early purely to get a frost damage boost Ice Armor - is your main defensive barrier, always use it when off cooldown Ice Blades - are meant to be spammed to create barriers, and to lower all cooldowns when they hit enemies. It also applies vulnerable, but does best on single target Frost Nova - is our MAIN way to apply vulnerable Familiar - Taken to satisfy the requirement for a 6th frost skill for elemental synergies. We also get 10% damage with cold when a frost one is out

How It Works

Blizzard. For once you were king, but now you are A tier. Before Lightning Spear took the throne, in the before before, there was Blizzard.

Blizzard was king in Season 0 and 1, due to it's ability to boss well due to it's insane damage ramp on single targets that don't move. It fell out of the meta, but it recently received a plethora of buffs. And I mean A LOT.

The glacial aspect, in addition receiving a buff to it's flat value, also now scales your ice spike damage up from Blizzard ranks 5 ranks = 1.5x damage 10 ranks = 2x damage 15 ranks = 2.5x damage etc

The frozen wake aspect, also now grants 90% damage to your ice spikes. Ice spikes also have access to 100% chance to double hit and 100% chance to deal double damage. These things can hit hard, and they hit often.

Blizzard is not the best speed farmer, as the damage takes time to ramp. But you can get strong enough that most Torment 4 content should just fall over. This build can boss like a champ, putting splintering to shame. Considering the changes coming in season 8 to glyph leveling and pit scaling, Blizzard shouldn't really have any issues

I am playing this exact build when season 8 starts. I think it is better than Ice Shards
