Precision hits and final blows build Guidance Ring energy. Opposing Guardians grant additional energy. At full charge, hip firing creates a Guidance Ring.

Hierarchy of Needs is able to clear groups of enemies and deal single target damage, making it a solid option for a moderate amount of content in the game. The seeking projectiles from Guidance Ring create explosions, giving it an area of effect aspect for groups, and when Guidance Ring is deployed, the bow’s damage is nearly tripled when the projectiles all hit one target. The weapon is best for dealing damage to higher health enemies that may not be worth using Heavy Ammo on such as Champions or Majors, or is a good option for Bosses when out of Heavy Ammo. There are better options for the role of clearing groups such as legendaries with Incandescent or Trinity Ghoul. Hierarchy of Needs is able to fill in multiple roles, but is by no means best in class for any of the roles which it can fill.
