This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon. Melee kills grant ammo for this weapon.

Dealing damage with this weapon reduces your melee cooldown and grants a chance to fully charge your melee ability with each kill.

Monte Carlo plays around a loop of melees. This weapon gives melee energy on any damage dealt, and kills with a melee or Monte Carlo increase the damage of Monte Carlo. This weapon is clearly best utilized with builds that revolve heavily around melee usage. Unfortunately with the introduction of Pugilist and Swashbuckler, in which there are two auto rifles which can roll with both of these perks (Seventh Seraph Carbine and BreyTech Werewolf), Monte Carlo has had its role infringed upon by legendary weapons. Pugilist and Swashbuckler perform the same gameplay loop as Monte Carlo except Monte Carlo has the benefit of generating energy melee on hits, and replenishes melee much faster. If solely dependent on melees for damage and kills, then Monte Carlo is worth using over its legendary counterparts.
