This weapon fires Hive worms which explode on impact. The size and damage of the explosion scales with the number of enemies you've defeated just before firing this weapon.

Parasite is a top burst damage option. With a magazine size of 1 and a shot that is charged up by defeating enemies, it is best to use Parasite by shooting its lone shot on a target that will be killed by one hit with a fully charged shot, or to open up a damage phase with parasite, then swap to an alternate weapon. This is because the reload time for Parasite is slow and a base shot deals minimal damage compared to a fully charged shot, and it is wated time to charge the shot back up during a damage phase and the user is better off damaging the boss with a different weapon.
