Shaco’s early level dueling is far from the best but if he can fear you, there is a high possibility of him winning a trade. Especially since he is one of few Junglers that takes Ignite rather than Flash.
Be cautious of early invades as he does have his Deceive
to get into your jungle undetected. Early levels, the invisibility only lasts 1.5 seconds, so you can usually see him come out of Deceive
, allowing you to kill him as he has no escape.
As a laner, warding bushes directly outside of lane won’t prevent a gank, so you want to ward in places where he can Deceive
over terrain of some kind.
Shaco’s team fight is almost non existent, so you want to have your team group up as early as possible, so he cannot Deceive
in and get a free pick when your team is seperated.
Shaco is an assassin who relies on one shotting squishy targets, so building armor will neutralize some of his damage.
If your team is grouped and you have no vision on Shaco, make sure you have a sweepers and vision surrounding you, so you will be alerted if Shaco tries to jump in and assassinate a carry. His clone takes more damage so if you are suddenly doing an absurd amount of damage to a Shaco, it is most likely his clone.
Shaco’s ganks are not very potent until level 4 when his Deceive
lasts 2.25 seconds. Always be cautious to not push up too far up against a Shaco because his box
can still fear you and force a Flash.
Shaco’s main item spike is when he gets Duskblade, but until then the only items he will generally have is T2 Boots and a Tiamat, expect an increase in assassination attempts when he has Duskblade.
Be wary of Shaco’s level 6 power spike. The second he presses
, you will not know which is the real Shaco. If you are unsure, just back away to safety or try to fight him if you think you know who the real one is.
