Laning Against

If Jayce gets a Serrated Dirk on his first back, it is his most powerful point in the laning phase. Do not allow him to all-in you as soon as he gets back to lane as he usually wins when he has full mana.

Jayce’s first item is Ghostblade which allows him to close the gap very easily on squishy champions and burst them quickly. Avoid fighting him when he uses his Ghostblade active and back away immediately.

Q alone can take away half of a squishy champion’s health pool, so be aware of his position at all times.

Q and kite him around so he must all-in you.

Jayce’s Hammer Form’s

E (Thundering Blow) is most commonly used as a form of disengage. When he uses this ability, it can be safely assumed that he has finished his combo and is retreating. You should trade back with him as he runs away.

During teamfights, Jayce does not provide a lot of DPS. Distance yourself as a carry from Jayce as his most powerful form of fighting is by poking then going for an all-in.

E combo. When these are on cooldown (16 seconds), he has a considerably harder time to harass ranged carries.

Jayce’s Hammer Form is a telegraphed all-in attempt. His

Q (To the Skies!) moves straight forward, slows, and is AO

E. Do not stand near minions when he switches to Hammer Form as he is easily kited when he misses his

Q. This ability can also be flashed.

Jayce uses a lot of mana early in the game. Force him to use his mana to contest a pushing wave, this will leave him without mana for trades later on.
