Sona is incredibly squishy and doesn’t like to go for all ins. Instead, she prefers to trade in short bursts. Use this knowledge to your advantage by going for extended trades whenever possible.
Most Sona’s will run through their mana incredibly quickly through poking and providing heals. Capitalize on this by looking to fight her when she has no mana available.
Sona will look to poke you down whenever you over extend or position aggressively in lane. If you’re playing as a Relic Shield Support; get the stack then move to a safer position so she doesn't poke you down.
Sona will look to ward objectives such as the Baron or Dragon. More often than not, she will go alone. Take the time to set up an ambush and take her down when she goes to ward.
Sona provides a lot of utility for her team. If possible, try to poke her down or take her out of the fight completely at the start so she is unable to heal or shield her allies.
For AD champions, invest in a Executioner's Calling during the mid game to reduce her healing and shielding capability on her allies.
Sona dishes out a lot of damage once she has a few points in her
in conjunction with an auto attack. If she looks to trade, always hit back to keep the lane equal.
Sona has increased all in potential when she has her
available. Make sure the lane is warded and that you do not over extend when she has her
up as she can easily set up ganks for her Jungler.
Thanks to Sona’s
(Aria of Perseverance), she will stop you from dealing as much damage if you’re hit with a power cord auto attack (her Passive). Unless you’re able to kill her, just back off after this effect takes place.
