Renekton counter tips

Laning Against

Renekton is a champion that will look to fight whenever he has his abilities up. Once he is peeling back after a skirmish, look to trade with him as he will have no way of defending himself.

When low on health he will always try to use his empowered

RenektonCleave

to hit you and as much minions as possible to regain health. Wait for him to use it on minions before you walk up to farm or fight him.

Do not underestimate Renekton range. With his Dash

RenektonSliceAndDice

, he can use it on the minion wave to close the gap and trade with you. This has a 18 second cooldown though, so use this time to farm, trade and heal up.

Strategy VS

During teamfights Renekton excels in healing up damage thanks to his empowered

RenektonCleave

. Getting a Grievous Wounds item is a good way of keeping him low on health.

Renekton will try to dive the backline and use his

RenektonReignOfTheTyrant

to survive while dishing out damage to whoever he can. Prevent Renekton from getting on your backline by peeling back as soon as he positions aggressively.

Renekton will look to split push when no team fights are occuring. Try to stop him from split pushing by sitting in the same lane he is. But, do not stand near the minion wave as he might all in you.

Power Spikes

His first power spike comes at level 3 when he get access to all his abilities. If your champion does not excel in level 3 fights, try to stay back and let him push to you and keep track of his Dash

RenektonSliceAndDice

. If you try to fight him, you risk an all-in that leaves you out of lane.

Renekton will spike at level 6 with his

RenektonReignOfTheTyrant

, keep track of his fury metter as he will try to all-in you when it reaches 50 or more Fury. Try to stay as healthy as possible to prevent him from looking to engage.

Once he has Spear of Shojin, he will be able to do a full rotation twice after using his

RenektonReignOfTheTyrant

. To prevent this, don't fight him when he Ults and wait for the Shojin buff to fall before looking to re-engage.
