Jax counter tips

Laning Against

Jax’ E has a 16 second cooldown level 1, and is typically the ability he maxes last. Harass him when you know it’s down!

Jax clears the jungle quite quickly and healthy, so you may not be able to fight him early. But, if you find him low- go in for the kill.

Often a time, Jax will prioritize picking up early Dragons so he can buff his team. Keep this in mind and keep the Dragon warded as often as possible.

Strategy VS

Jax is one of the strongest split pushers in the game, but can be blown up in teamfights. Focus CC on him when he groups, and don’t try to 1v1 him if you’re not significantly ahead.

Jax’ strongest ability “Counter Strike” (E) renders him immune to auto attacks and reduces AOE damage by 25%- single target abilities do hurt him though. Use this knowledge to your advantage and back away if necessary.

Forcing a fight with a numbers advantage when Jax is split pushing can be your best bet to win a teamfight.

Power Spikes

Jax power spikes at level 6 as his

JaxRelentlessAssault

(apart from giving him armor and M

JaxRelentlessAssault

upon activation) gives him a Passive damage boost. These both offensive and defensive stats become very hard to deal with for most champions- especially after level 11.

Once Jax gets his first item, he becomes much harder to duel unless you have items that match his damage. Don't over commit to fighting him without a backup plan.

Jax gets bonus defensive stats from the AD and AP items he picks up thanks to his

JaxRelentlessAssault

. This gives him the potential for amazing amounts of effective HP with bonus HP items in your build.
