Jarvan has surprisingly good sustain damage with the attack speed coming from his . Unless you are a sufficient duelist, do not get caught off guard by his extra attack speed from his .
Jarvan has an extremely proficient level 2 gank. Be aware as any laner as this could be a high possibility no matter which lane you’re playing.
Without any mobility spell, Jarvan is bound to trap you with his and you’ll have very little chance of surviving. Always keep a mobility spell off cooldown with you, even if it’s flash, if Jarvan is in close proximity with you and has his up.
Jarvan needs to use two abilities, his “Flag and Drag combo” ( > Q) as the majority of his damage and mobility. Predict this exchange as it’s extremely linear when his flag gets placed and dodge it.
Evaluate Jarvan’s current builds and build paths as it judges his gameplay dramatically. If there is a build of Cinderhulk, he is bound to be the frontline and peel for his team. Likewise, if he’s full AD, he’s extremely squishy and look to assassinate anyone. If he is AD, focus him first so he can’t one shot the backline.
Jarvan’s gameplay is not very creative in terms of where he can go. Warding basic areas like bushes or choke points will likely spot Jarvan before he gets the chance to flank or gank.
Be extremely wary of Jarvan’s level 2 power spike as he is one of the few that excels in ganking at this level.
Jarvan’s level 6 power spike is also extremely powerful as it unlocks a huge amount of utility when it comes to ganking and a person trapped by Jarvan's is almost sure to die.
Jarvan’s level 13 is subtle but can also be unexpected. At this level, his will be maxed and will be giving 30% attack speed to his allies. This amount of attack speed (depending on the team comp) can sometimes change the outcome of the fight.
