Bard counter tips

Laning Against

Bard will look to use his

BardQ

on a minion and hit an enemy champion behind them. Do not stand too close to the minion wave to prevent him from getting an easy stun.

Bard will leave lane to pick up Chimes when it’s safe. Abuse the fact that he is missing to all in the enemy ADC.

Bard has empowered auto attacks that really can hurt during short skirmishes. Try to fight him when he doesn’t have an empowered auto attack to come out ahead.

Strategy VS

Do not group to closely during the mid game as Bard can utilise his

BardR

and hit multiple champions with it. Being hit by the Ult can allow the enemy to engage. Try and keep your distance when roaming the map.

Because Bard’s

BardQ

can stun enemies who are close to the wall, take alternative routes when walking towards the Dragon or Baron. Being stunned before a major objective spawns may let the enemy engage on you and then take the objective afterwards.

Overstaying while low under your own tower is a big no-no against a Bard. He can use his

BardR

to put the tower in stasis and then the enemy can dive you. In short, when low- nowhere is safe not even under your tower: just back when low.

Power Spikes

Bard is really strong at level 1 because of his empowered auto attacks. Try not to let him auto attack you in the early levels so you’re not chunked for the level 2 all in.

After Bard’s first back, he will pick up Frostfang. This item buffs his damage output and overall trading potential. Look to trade with him when he cannot dish out as much damage: such as after he has used his empowered auto attack or after he’s wasted his

BardQ

Bard doesn’t really have a damage dealing

BardR

. Once you hit level 6 look to all in him and make him burn his

BardR
