Anivia counter tips

Laning Against

Anivia has a weaker laning phase and often has trouble farming due to low base attack power and high mana costs. If her FlashFrost is down, you can trade.
Avoid her FlashFrost at all costs in the early game as her Frostbite deals doubles in damage after FlashFrost lands. Anivia has a very strong level 2 that often catches players unaware- so play respectfully.
Don’t forget about Anivia’s Passive. Her Frostbite (Passive) is extremely weak, but fighting in minion waves after a skirmish can lead to your death.

Strategy VS

Silences and displacements are Anivia’s worst enemy. Disrupting her Ult forces her to retreat.
Anivia is extremely mana-hungry and she will need blue as often as possible in order to do well in lane. When she is low on mana, use this opportunity to deny her farm.
Anivia has one of the slowest movement speeds in the game and is not effective at counter-roaming. Roaming to help other lanes will help get your team ahead.

Power Spikes

Anivia’s first items will probably be a mana item such as Catalyst or Tear. While these give her mana, they do not increase her AP, and you can still trade easily if you dodge her FlashFrost.
Be wary of Anivia when she finishes Liandry’s Torment. Her GlacialStorm meshes extremely well with this item and the passive burn will do more damage than people expect.
Anivia’s power spikes are at level 2 and 6. Her FlashFrost > Frostbite combo early is one of the strongest in midlane, but relies on a very slow skillshot. Her GlacialStorm is a great tool for wave clearing.
